Frequently asked questions.

What makes Casa Sana different from other builders and remodelers?

We build and renovate with health as a core design principle. That means breathable exterior systems, healthier insulation, low or no VOC finishes, real wood, advanced air and water filtration, and construction methods that reduce moisture issues. Everything is selected and assembled with long-term health in mind.

Do you only build new homes, or do you handle remodels as well?

Both. Some clients hire us for ground-up custom homes. Others bring us in to correct past work, improve air quality, replace toxic materials, or remodel parts of an existing home using our healthy-home standards.

What materials do you typically avoid?

We stay away from products that trap moisture or off-gas chemicals. That usually includes MDF cabinetry, spray foam insulation, OSB sheathing, cheap particleboard, and high-VOC paints or adhesives. We prefer natural materials, real plywood, breathable stucco, mineral wool, and finishes that don’t pollute your indoor environment.

Can you help if I think my home has mold or poor air quality?

Yes. We can refer our trusted inspector partners to inspect, identify the likely sources, and give you a plan to correct the issues. Most indoor air problems come from moisture management failures, off-gassing building materials, or inadequate ventilation. We focus on long-term fixes, not surface-level band-aids.

Do you offer consulting if I’m not ready to hire a full builder or remodeler?

Yes. Many homeowners bring us in just to diagnose problems, review plans, or advise them on healthier materials and assemblies. Some later hire us to execute the work.

Will a healthy home cost more?

Some materials cost more upfront, but they perform better and last longer. We’re transparent about costs so you can decide what matters most: durability, air quality, long-term safety, or budget. We build a plan around your priorities.
